Rekyva offers a full range of fertilised and unfertilised peat products based on milled peat, sod block Peat or mixes of milled and sod peat.
Basically there are four different product types; unfertilised and substrates based on milled peat or sod peat. The substrates are again divided into Remix A, B, C and D for different growing purposes. All products are offered in many different screenings. Furthermore, special products can be produced based on the customers specific requirements.
All products are available in 80 l, 250 l bags or in 6,6m3 big-bags – some products are also available in 150 l and 300 l bags.
Products based on milled peat are offered in screenings of 0-5 mm, 0-10 mm, 0-20 mm and 0-40 mm. Products based on sod peat are offered in all screenings from 0-5 mm to 20-40 mm.
Why milled and sods? - Differences
Milled peat is harvested in the period April to September on the surface of peat bog by loosening 1-2 cm. In order to harvest completely dry peat the loosened layer is turned one or more times before it is harvested by a special vacuum harvesters and then collected into heaps.
Sod peat is cut into 50 l blocks and placed on the surface of the peat bog. After the weight is reduced with about 50% the blocks are stacked on pallets where the blocks continue to dry out until it is ideal for production. The great advantage of this method is that the structure of the sphagnum moss is preserved and the end product will have a much lower amount of fine particles (dust).
Code and colours
The product coding and labelling is based on six-figure numbers and divided into five colours.

The two first figures indicate the bag size, the third figure indicates the packaging, the fourth figure indicates the screening size, the fifth figure indicates the product type and the sixth figure indicate the type of pallet. The declaration on the bags gives all information about the product.
